While visiting with my uncle at MUSC hospital, I saw this really neat work of art. Created from old bottle caps. See details about the painting below the pictures.

About this Work:
This bottlecap portrait was specifically commissioned by MUSC (the Medical University of South Carolina) to celebrate the extraordinary career of Charleston’s own master blacksmith, Phillip Simmons (Born in 1912, and a lifelong Lowcountry resident)
Simmon’s work can be found all over the Charleston peninsula. His work can be found at the most expensive multi-million dollar mansions, and also in the poorest of Charleston’s neighborhoods.

That’s awesome… I saw art done with dentyne ice wrappers before (with some gum pockets empty and others still with gum in them) and that was awesome too.

Totally awesome! My sister has collected bottle caps for quite a while now and this just might give her some inspiration on what to do with them.
I would love to see more curious to know how many hours it took after collecting all the various colors and all. Beautful and resourceful.
wonderful work!
I would like to recreate something similar to this. How would i go about doing that and what materials should i get?

Wow! Astounding work, thanks so much for sharing it. I especially appreciate the detail shots – you can see that the artist just used the natural shading from the bottle caps (am I wrong?) without altering or otherwise colorizing them. Truly marvelous.
Truly amazing work by Molly B. Right. I have seen these images elsewhere on the internet, but not with the artist’s name nor link to her website. Thank you for listing this information.
